Summer Walks 2026
NO NEED TO BOOK - JUST TURN UP
Walks are free to members and £4 for visitors. It's not essential, but if possible please book a place using the link below. This helps us to keep you safe. We need volunteers to act as marshals, usually 2 per walk. If you can do this, contact jennycarr@plymarchsoc.org.uk indicating which walk you could do.
Some of our walks are on rough ground please wear strong footwear and be prepared for all weathers. Also trousers are recommended as many places have the risk of ticks.

Maker Heights Redoubts
John Manley (Redoubts Working Group Makers Heights)
John will lead us on a tour of 4 or 5 of the redoubts of this nationally recognised historical site. From 18th and 19th defensive redoubts and a WW2 anti aircraft battery to cold war defences, John has an epic tale. The information centre and Guardroom restaurant make a good day out.

Tour of Berry Pomeroy Castle

The tour is of the ruined late medieval defensive castle built by the Pomeroy family which was later developed by the wealthy Seymour family as a luxurious Tudor hunting lodge.
